This was a paper I wrote working through the steps of strategic management to affect a change. The original assignment was to look at the project from a whole company standpoint, however, I wanted to narrow my focus down to my specific team. I knew that we had processes that could be better and more efficient. While the focus was on the smaller team, there were aspects of the company as a whole that did play into the way I decided to approach the solutions.
I really loved this class as it gave me an opportunity to stretch my creative thinking and delve into the structure of both my team and the company and really look at how to improve a process that was cumbersome.

DownloadThis was a marketing plan we had to create designing a new service line for a company. While telemedicine isn't new, I took the slant of aligning the company with the Veterans Administration (VA) system. I really wanted to see if Sound Physicians could positively impact the federal healthcare realm.
I have been working with my sister in navigating her healthcare through the VA system and experiencing first hand how challenging it is. I really wanted to theorize that Sound Physicians could make a positive impact in the federal healthcare system and with our network of providers being available not just for the patients but for the providers within the VA as well I feel made a good marriage of the two worlds

DownloadThis was a fun project. Throughout the 7 weeks of this course we had to find a project, either within our company our outside, to lead. I was able to work with my management team to lead a cleanup effort on a project for resolving medical necessity denials.
The final turn-in for the class was a recorded power point presentation detailing the information ... and we were supposed to make it fun!!

DownloadOne of our class projects was to write a plan for a new business. While I realize this is an idealized version of what could be, I also feel that this plan could have some real bones .. with some edits to the plan.
The general principle is that this is a non-profit company that would work with veterans as independent advocates to help then navigate and streamline their healthcare and try to put an end to the loop of consults and doctors visits.
I do have in there that "we would be your brother your sisters, or aunt or cousin" and be put on the patient's profile. While discussing this plan with a friend, I realize that that could invoke some legal aspects and if I were to re-write this business plan I would take a harder look at how to accomplish my goal of advocating for the veteran without invoking potential legal aspects.

DownloadThese are papers I wrote doing literature reviews on articles related to an issue within healthcare. At the time we were assigned these papers the world was in the middle of the pandemic and burnout was becoming a well-known word.
these papers started my deep dive into the world of burnout and how it was affecting not just healthcare workers, but everyone in differing degrees. I know that I have experienced my own burnout due to things happening in my life and I was able to change the things that were causing it. But the research I was able to find was all about treating the symptoms not the root cause. While the symptons are important and should not be ignored, I would love to do a deep dive into, what I'm calling, the mechanical side of burnout and see where we could help with workflow changes, technology upgrades, etc., to help prevent burnout from even happening or lessen it significantly
For our final leadership class we were asked to do a deep-dive into one leadership style and investigate out it fit us as a leader.
I don't like to think of myself as single-facted and worked with 2 leaderships styles in tandem throughout the paper. While I have a greater understanding of these leadership styles. I feel that the biggest leadership style is one that is adaptative to what each individual person your are working with needs.
